An excellent presentation of how social networking (yes, looking at you Facebook) are really very poor tools compared to how most people actually socialise. The main advantage Facebook had was to get there first and get the viral takeup.
It's rather long but well worth a lunchtime read.
Judging by how thorough Google's research appears to be, they may well be able to combine all of their labs technologies (wave, talk, buzz etc) into one killer app.
Or maybe they'll just blow it as usual :)
